Greg Blurton - Chief Executive Officer

Greg started the company back in 1989 with one lorry and five skips, which he drove himself. His background was in engineering and over the years he has applied a logical and energetic approach to the way he has built the business. This approach has certainly paid off because Rabbit Group is now a major player locally in Waste Collection and Recycling, Renewable Energy, Plant Hire and Demolition services. Whilst the commercial success of the business has always been his goal, he is also very proud of the support that Rabbit Group is able to provide to local sporting teams and charities. Greg says, “I like to think of Rabbit Group as being part of the community,” and hopes people feel the same when they see a Rabbit Skip.

Mandy Bridson  - Executive Officer

Mandy Bridson - Executive Officer

Although the business has grown substantially since it was first started, Mandy is still passionate about offering the level of service and care that customers expect from a family business and to ensure that all of the staff never lose sight of the company’s roots. Mandy maintains an active involvement in the pursuit of enhancing the opportunities for both Rabbit Group and other local businesses, as well as for the younger generations. Sitting on various committees, whether it be for businesses or associations that Rabbit Group sponsors and supports, is just one of the many ways that she works to provide such opportunities. Mandy is very proud of everything she has achieved with Rabbit, saying, “We have built a strong team here at Rabbit and we are all committed to providing the best service we can to our existing and new customers alike.”

Mick Adams - Managing Director

Mick Adams - Managing Director

Mick joined the team at Rabbit Group in the summer of 2006 with the primary objective of developing and delivering the Biomass Energy from Waste plant, part of the company’s commitment to green waste management. Once the plant was operational, he took over its management to ensure maximum recycling and minimum landfill.  Mick’s background is in engineering and construction, but it is his wealth of experience in management which has lead him to move to a more central position within Rabbit Group, where he is now involved in management across all activities. Describing his time at Rabbit Group, Mick says, “It has been very enjoyable and provided a number of challenges, which as a team we have overcome. We now continue to move the business forward in a positive way and I look forward to the challenges that this will undoubtedly bring.”

Dave Ely - Transport Operations Director

Dave Ely - Transport Operations Director

Dave has a wealth of experience, having worked in the waste industry since 1986. Eleven years later he joined Rabbit Group. As Transport Operations Director Dave oversees a number of different departments within the business, including Transport, Admin, HR, Health Safety and Environment. His role is therefore fundamental to maintaining the efficiency of individual departments to achieve overall success for the business. Dave enjoys working at Rabbit Group because “there is no such thing as a normal day” and he relishes the challenge that each day brings.

Duncan Barrass - Commercial & Operations Director

Duncan Barrass - Commercial & Operations Director

Duncan has several key roles within the business. Not only is he responsible for monitoring all commercial activities and sales, but he oversees the waste processing, sorting and fuel preparation activities, as well as the workshops and maintenance. Duncan began his career as a mechanical engineering apprentice and now has 32 years’ experience in the waste industry, working for a variety of large waste companies. In 2010 he joined Rabbit Group and says that “it’s been full-on ever since!”

Steve Charman - Managing Director of Rabbit and Dowling Plant Hire

Steve Charman - Managing Director of Rabbit and Dowling Plant Hire

Steve has been a member of the team at Rabbit Group since 2011 and after almost five years with the company, he has recently been appointed as Managing Director of Rabbit and Dowling Plant Hire. With 15 years’ experience running his own building contracting company, he knows all about what it’s like to be an end-user of the plant that he now hires out to others, helping him to provide a better service that really delivers what our customers want. As Steve says, ‘variety is the spice of life’ and he has really enjoyed taking on the challenge of his new role within the company.

Ian Brown - Sales manager

Ian Brown - Sales manager

Ian joined Rabbit Group in August 2015 and with 25 years’ experience in the plant and tool hire industry, he certainly had plenty of knowledge to bring to his role. His main focus is to bring in new business and keep existing customers happy. Ian "enjoys working at Rabbit Group because every day is a new challenge and all the staff are friendly and helpful."

Clare Gale - Sales Consultant

Clare Gale - Sales Consultant

As our sales consultant, Clare’s job is to win us those new contracts and bring in the business. She is passionate about selling Rabbit Group’s waste management services because we have a unique product that she really believes in, our Energy from Waste Plant. Having worked at Rabbit Group for just over two years, what Clare enjoys most about her job is being part of close-knit team in a friendly, family environment. Not only does this make it an enjoyable place to work but working for a close network of directors and staff means we can get an answer to the customer and make our deliveries straight away rather than having to go through a long-winded process like other large corporate companies. “This means we can provide customers with the personal touch.”

Carole - Accounts Assistant

Carole - Accounts Assistant

Carol has been a key member of the team at Rabbit Group for 14 years and is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the business day-to-day. Her role involves communicating directly with our customers, addressing any queries they might have, taking telephone orders and making sure invoices are paid on time. Not only does she provide a great service to our customers, but she looks after the staff in the office and orders all of the supplies we need.  Carol enjoys working at Rabbit Group because "There are never two days the same, which makes it a challenge and the team are great fun to work with."

Ben - Transport Manager

Ben - Transport Manager

Ben joined Rabbit Group in 2004 with plenty of experience in the transport industry, having worked in this field since the mid 1980s. Amongst his responsibilities he is in charge of putting together the routes for the drivers and vehicles. Ben particularly enjoys the organisational aspects of his roles, making sure that deliveries and collections run on time so that customers get what they want, when they need it.

Hannah - Transport Office Administrator

Hannah - Transport Office Administrator

Hannah first started working in the waste industry in 2001 and became a valued member of Rabbit Group in 2004 when we took over the previous company that she worked for. Hannah works closely with Ben, our Transport Manager, taking care of all those small but significant jobs that can so often be forgotten but are vital for any well organised service provider. She particularly enjoys working as part of a busy and successful team, loves the challenge of looking after a variety of different types of customers and derives satisfaction in providing a friendly, reliable service.

Dan - Transport Office Administrator

Dan - Transport Office Administrator

Dan joined Rabbit in 2011 after graduating with a degree from university and has been loving rising to the challenges of working in the waste industry ever since. His main role is to maintain the effective running of the Tradewaste vehicles day to day to ensure that all of the bins are collected on time so that we can keep our customers happy and manage their waste efficiently. Dan loves the benefits of working in a small and friendly team, because it presents more opportunities to get involved with a wide range of tasks and makes the days more interesting.
