A Fond Farewell to Mick Adams

Having been an integral part of Rabbit Waste Management for the past 19 years, Mick Adams, our Managing Director, retires at the end of May and we sincerely thank him for his dedication and hard work.

His steady guidance has helped shape Rabbit Waste Management into the company it is today. Mick’s influence has extended far beyond day-to-day operations – his focus on sustainable growth, people and succession planning has left a legacy that will benefit the business for years to come.

During his farewell dinner, Mick reflected on his role: “You start out focused on improving the business, then realise that real success means planning for its future without you. At Rabbit, that’s been straightforward – there’s a strong team in place and any challenges have always been met and overcome. I’m confident that it will continue to thrive under the new leadership.”

Reflecting on his time at Rabbit Waste Management, Mick shared: “It has been a fantastic journey and I feel privileged to have worked alongside such a dedicated and talented team. Rabbit has always been about the people and I know the company is in great hands for the future. Thank you all for the memories, the support and the camaraderie – I will miss it dearly.”

Over the past few years, Mick has worked closely with the senior management team to lay strong foundations for the future of Rabbit Waste Management. His focus on mentoring, succession planning and building a resilient leadership team means the company is well-positioned for continued growth and innovation.

With this groundwork in place, we’re pleased to announce that Marc Linberry is stepping into the role of Managing Director of Rabbit Waste Management. With many years of experience across the business, Marc brings a strong understanding of our operations, along with the drive and enthusiasm to lead us into the future.

Of his new role, Marc commented: “Stepping into the role of Managing Director is a real honour and I’m well aware that Mick leaves behind an inspiring legacy that sets the bar high. His leadership and commitment have shaped the company into what it is today. I’m proud to carry that legacy forward and, together with the team, continue building on the strong foundations he helped create. It’s an exciting time and I look forward to leading Rabbit into its next chapter.”

Emma Blurton, daughter of CEO Greg Blurton, has also taken on a more involved position as Executive Officer of Rabbit Waste Management. Her expanded role reflects the company’s commitment to remaining a proudly family-owned and run business, continuing the family’s hands-on involvement in daily operations. Emma will be working closely with Marc to support the continued development of the company, ensuring our values remain at the heart of everything we do.

In addition, Joe Timms has stepped into the role of Operations Director of Enviropower, where his insight and leadership are proving invaluable. He joins the senior management team alongside Dave Ely,Transport and Operations Director, and Duncan Barrass, Commercial and Operations Director, who continue to drive forward the waste operations with their extensive years of industry knowledge, experience and relationships.

Emma shared her excitement about the future, saying: “Rabbit Waste Management has been built on a strong foundation of teamwork and innovation. I’m excited to help drive new opportunities, strengthen our operations and continue delivering the high standards our customers expect. With such a talented team in place, I have no doubt that the future is bright.”
